Livestreaming: A Simple Strategy for Authors

I cannot possibly express the joy and amazement I am feeling right now. But let’s give it a go, just for fun.

As I write this I am in my hotel room at the Horseshoe resort in Las Vegas working on the final tweaks to the talk I will be giving tomorrow morning at an event called Author Nation. My talk is titled, “Livestreaming: A Simple Strategy for Authors.” Some of you may be landing here as a result of that talk, which just blows my mind! Maybe it is no big deal, but to me it feels very “Back to the Future” to even write this. Did I do well? Was it a total flop? I am writing this assuming that it went swimmingly, but who knows, since I am really in the past and you will read this in the future… 🤯. If this past self is correct and you are new here, welcome!

Or as I like to say, “Kungaloosh! Adventurers!”

My excitement is partially from being on the eve of my first public speech in more years that I care to count, but mostly because of the way this speaking engagement was born. This time, last year, I was attending my very first author conference called, 20Booksto50K (the predecessor to Author Nation). I had not yet decided to become a full-time author. My family had not yet moved onto a boat in the Mediterranean. I had not a clue that I would be raising my hand to apply as a speaker. And, if you had told me then that I would have my novel, “Death Wounds” up on Amazon for preorder, I would have called you “crazy!” I have been working on that thing for 25+ years! The truth is, I only went to that conference because I was gifted a ticket. But life’s best magic works in mysterious ways, doesn’t it?

Now, not only am I speaking at this event tomorrow, but I am doing so with my husband and two of my kids here in Vegas to support me. That makes this all mean so much more. Not only am I stepping up in my business, I have been doing so while still being fully present for my beloveds.
