Vote for "Pyro Pastor's" Cover
Book 2 of "Catalina's Chronicles" releases February 28!
Now that we are into February it’s time to finalize the second book in “Catalina’s Chronicles” trilogy. That book is called, “Pyro Pastor.” It is a fictional thriller inspired by one of the worst crimes I ever covered during my time as a reporter at Fox 10 - KSAZ in Phoenix, Arizona. “Pyro Pastor” will be released on February 28th and is already available for pre-order on Amazon. You can find that here:
But before I can release this book into the wild, Amazon book jungle, I first need to finalize a few things. While the book itself is already written (thank goodness!) there are still some remaining tasks to be handled. The most pressing is finalizing the book’s cover. Like the first book in the series (Death Wounds), the cover was created by the brilliantly talented, Jacqueline Sweet.
But, unlike the Death Wounds cover which I approved very quickly, I’m a bit more indecisive with this Pyro Pastor cover. I love it overall but I can’t decide which color to go with on Catalina’s jacket. I think they all look great. So, I am letting you decide.
To that end, please scroll down to look at the seven Pyro Pastor cover options and then cast your vote below (note the number of your favorite one in the upper right hand corner of each image). You can click on an image to get a better view:
Okay, now that you’ve seen them all, please click this purple button to cast your vote!
Thank you!
I’ll be finalizing Pyro Pastor’s cover on Valentine’s Day based on which one gets the most votes here! I mean, what’s not to LOVE, right?
Also, as a bonus for my paid subscribers, I thought I would share a little more of the behind the scenes of the cover designing process. Jacqueline and I start each book’s cover by sharing idea files, blurbs and general conversations about what I envision for the cover. Since I’m AI-resistant, this is all done the old school way with two artists (one a graphic designer and one a writer) sharing our brainstorms and sending stock photo images and mockups back and forth for a few weeks.
Paid members can continue reading below to see some of the early, rejected designs along with my thoughts on why they weren’t chosen.
Not yet a paid member? No worries at all. Every free subscriber gets to access one paid post for free, so if you can use that option if curiosity is killing the Cat (for those of you that have already read Death Wounds, see what I did there? 😊).
